The University offers the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering.

University Honors

Students with high academic achievement may graduate with Honors. University honors are summa cum laude (highest honors, rarely awarded), magna cum laude (high honors), and cum laude (honors).

Graduation Requirements

Students are responsible for making certain that their plan of study meets all degree and major requirements. To graduate from Tan Tao University, all students must:

  • Be registered at TTU full time for at least four full semesters;
  • Complete the requirements of at least one major degree program;
  • Complete at least 128 semester hours;
  • Complete at least 60 semester hours at Tan Tao University;
  • Complete all TTU courses satisfying degree requirements with a cumulative grade point average of elective courses at least 1.67 or higher;
  • Complete all TTU courses that satisfy major and/or minor requirements (as designated by the department) and all mandatory courses with grade of at least 2.00 or higher;
  • TTU Engineering students must complete at least 36 credit hours offered by others Schools (including TTU core courses);
  • Satisfy the English composition requirement: TOEFL 600 or equivalent;
  • Complete courses of physical education, national defense education, and other courses required by MoET;
  • Complete courses to satisfy the Distribution Requirement;
  • Demonstrate to be a student in good academic and disciplinary standing who is not under investigation.

Learning Outcomes

As a part of TTU general education, expansive foundations related to different realistic constrains, ethics, communication, teamwork, leadership, etc. allows TTU-graduated civil engineers to succeed in any engineering practice and/or pursuit higher education in Vietnam or oversea.

The civil engineering graduates will:

  • Have a strong fundamental scientific and technical knowledge base as well as strong critical thinking skills;
  • Apply their engineering skills to critically analyze and interpret data and be proficient in engineering design accommodating the total project environment;
  • Be able to communicate with the technical, professional and broader communities in written, verbal and visual formats, including interacting in interdisciplinary contexts;
  • Demonstrate high standards in ethical, legal and professional obligations to protect human health, welfare and the environment;
  • Be active in the professional civil engineering community, actively contribute to the profession and pursue lifelong learning;

Graduate students may enter one of two programs: the master of civil engineering is for students whose goal is broad professional practice, and the Master of Science degree is for those who favor an emphasis on research and specialized study.
